This was one of the best places I've ever went to for ramen! The ramen was so good, the portions are big but not impossible to eat in one sitting. I tried my first ever Bao bun and it was also incredibly good. However the best part was definitely the environment and employees. The server we had was so sweet, she took time to explain certain dishes to me. When I asked about what certain ingredients were because it was so good, she went through and explained each one. The other employees were also super nice! I'm surprised this place didn't have more business.

Had a great time eating here! I was eating dinner super late, only 30 minutes before closing, but the staff were still super polite and brought the food very fast. The music and atmosphere was wonderful and the kitsune soba was great! The raindrop cake was so beautiful as well (see photo). Will definitely be coming back here!

I wish I could rate is 6/5 stars. I love this restaurant. The dishes are thoughtful and delightful. I’ve been here several times and keep coming back. Not only is the food incredible (the curry don, daikon salad, and carbonara udon with bacon kimchi!), but the service is unmatched. As a parent of young children, this is absolutely a restaurant where the staff and owners *include* children - this is done through their attention to detail with children plates, utensils, and cups, as well as the interaction from the staff. It is a rare place, let alone restaurant, that welcomes families and young children to experience their food and not be annoyed/inconvenienced. The triangle area is truly so lucky to have Shinmai Shokudo and their sister restaurant (Shinmai Kumo, which is fantastic).

Having come back recently from a long trip to Japan, I was really missing the food and being out of town, I was able to find this place. I drove an hour out of my way to try it out and was not disappointed! I simply got some Okonomiyaki (Osaka style), takoyaki and Gyudon. I ended the meal with their Match Affogato. Being stateside, I was quite satisfied, with everything tasting wonderful. I will say the Takoyaki was particularly exceptional πŸ‘ The staff was very welcoming and kind as well. It all very much brought me "back" so to speak. I'll certainly have to remember to swing by here in the future if I'm ever passing through again

Addicted to good Japanese cuisine, we researched and found Shinmai Shoduko. The restaurant is quite small, doesn’t take reservations, so being on a Tuesday evening, we went with our fingers crossed. It was full, there was only one table for 2 pax left but we are party of 4, so we waited. The lovely lady server (sorry I asked for your name but then forgot) was really polite, nice and clever at the same time. She tried to politely brought the bills to other tables and after 15 minutes, managed to set a table for 4 for us. She took orders neatly and brought the food once by one very nice. 5 STARS for the service. Ambiance is chill, even though the place is small, it’s totally full but we felt relaxed with the moderate noise and nice atmosphere. We ordered 2 Gyozas, 3 different Ramen and one Chicken Tonkatsu set. All were great! We have 2 birthdays at our table and an ice cream, on the house was served with a candle. Yay!!! We will come back for more and will make sure to remember the name of our lovely server, who always with a smile.
